Flower Dome and Cloud Forest
The Flower Dome is a cool, dry garden of flowers, olive trees and baobabs from around the world, with flower displays that change through the year. The Cloud Forest is cool and misty, with a tall indoor waterfall and a mountain of plants that you walk around on high walkways. Both domes are air-conditioned, so they are a good escape from the afternoon heat. Allow about 2 hours for both.
- Gardens by the Bay: Flower Dome & Cloud Forest Ticket: Entry to both domes at Gardens by the Bay: the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. E-ticket by email. (entry ticket, from S$46 per adult, S$32 per child)
The best time to go
- Late afternoon is best: the domes from about 4 pm, the Supertrees at sunset, then Garden Rhapsody at 7.45 pm.
- Lie on the lawn under the Supertrees for the show. It lasts about 15 minutes.
- After the show, walk to the Event Plaza in front of Marina Bay Sands for Spectra, the free water and light show at 9 pm (also 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays).
- Show times can change for festivals, so check the Gardens by the Bay website on the day.
Getting there
- MRT: Gardens by the Bay station (Thomson-East Coast Line) is at the edge of the gardens. From Bayfront station (Circle and Downtown lines), take Exit B and follow the underground link to the Dragonfly Bridge.
- Marina Bay Sands is next door: a bridge links the hotel towers to the gardens.
- By taxi or car, ask for the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest drop-off point.
Tips
- Eat at Satay by the Bay, a hawker centre inside the gardens.
- Bring water and a hat: the outdoor gardens are big and hot in the day.
- The paths are flat, with lifts, so wheelchairs and prams are easy.
- A guide shows you the best photo spots and tells the stories behind the plants and the Supertrees.
- Gardens by the Bay & Marina Bay Day Walk: Supertrees, garden trails, the Helix Bridge and the best skyline views — Singapore’s “city in a garden” by day. (3 hours, from S$61 per adult, S$41 per child)
- Marina Bay & Gardens Night Tour: City lights, the Merlion and the evening light show in the Gardens. (3 h 30 min, from S$65 per adult, S$45 per child)
